Tickell Blue

Tickell Blue

Tender Bamboo stems gently clash to the wind,
In silence, those sounds are menacing, menacing to hear,
Viper in that darkness, twisting twigs, that very grind,
Menacing sounds from the dark, from the dark that disappear,

When raindrops on the green capture that soft sun light,
Leaves shiver, push, dance their way to the skies of gray,
Their flight like the mighty outstretched wings of the black kite,
While Koel sings those morning melodies, with notes they play,

Mushrooms pop their tiny heads from the damp ground,
Like an umbrella of a fairy tale, an umbrella so tiny to move,
Croakers go on their rampage spree, like a trumpet, a trumpet sound,
While the Tickell Blue hops around, hops around the groove.

Poet's Note: During my recent bird-watching at one of the local parks, i was fascinated to watch the Tickell's blue flycatcher and the others going around doing their day to day business. Monsoon is a great season to watch nature, the transformation that takes place is magical.
