Rainforest Queen
While the world is still
oblivious to the breaking light,
She casts her misty veil
across the mighty Shola trees,
Moon beam is fleeting,
while Venus is blinking bright,
She glides whispering
sweet fragrance through the breeze,
Whistling away in
admiration, those wings in the dense,
Flaming radish crown of a
pecker glowing at your glance,
Pebbles clashing for your
embrace, ripples are tense,
Over the thick branches a
Langur dancing in wild trance,
Burrowing webs awaiting her
new visiting foolish mate,
An orange Scarlet flashing
his breast behind the green,
Watching her moves the
dwarf fisher on water skate,
She disappears at the
first light, the rain forest queen.

Poets Note: Based on my recent visit
to the mighty tropical evergreen forests in South India. I've tried to bring out the
visuals witnessed besides the gentle stream flowing from the mighty
river Bhadra.
